As with many others, I bemoaned the news that Domino was shutting its beautifully stylish doors. Several alternatives have filtered through my fav design blogs and one that I’d like to share is Notebook Magazine.
They have a slideshow up that makes my little natural design heart go pitter pat. It’s called “Modern Rustic” and has a wabi-sabi feel. The flexible bamboo screen stands via the curves that you create when you place it in your room. The bamboo is pesticide-free and treated with a nontoxic water-based finish. When you are finished with the screen, it’s a simple task of rolling it up for storage. US$259 (+$15 extra shipping)

Grace had me when she included the pic of the hedgehog. I have a stuffed animal hedgehog from when I was a child. No one else ever had one and he has a special place in my heart.
While these are available at West Elm in Chelsea, you might be able to find them locally (or make your own).

Max Longin”s new bed is a fantastic design and engineering marvel. It is a suspension platform for queen, king and california king mattresses. Because the bed is suspended, it moves slightly when you move. This is likened to sleeping on a hammock, which is one of the most comfortable places I’ve ever taken a nap. …ah Jamaica… (more…)
